Following his accident and injury, Michael-Ryan became keenly focused on helping others living with paralysis. Realizing the overwhelming need surrounding the SCI community, The Michael-Ryan Pattison Foundation was established in 2006 to aid others with spinal cord injuries in finding the best possible care for their disability.
Since its humble beginnings, The Michael-Ryan Pattison Foundation has raised over $1.3 million. Michael-Ryan, along with his family and friends, have organized several increasingly successful fundraising events. The foundation has held auctions, golf tournaments, and Young Professional networking events that have provided hope and healing to numerous members of the SCIcommunity. Funds raised have been used to purchase specialized equipment as well as award grants to provide specialized exercise therapy and ongoing advancement for this paralysis.
“It’s been incredibly exciting seeing the community come together for this unique cause. I’ve been fortunate to have the support from family and friends during my healing process, but realize that others might not have that same access. Through charity events like these, I hope to create equal access to support and medical care for all spinal-cord injury patients.”
